Hello:

The closest that I've found is BigFix at:

http://www.bigfix.com/website/products/consumer.html .

BigFix only tells about Microsoft updates, not updates to other
software. Although I use BigFix, I wish they'd include the MS fix
numbers since I've been told that some are to be avoided. I have a new
machine with XP (lots of updates to download), and Q811493 was in
their fixlet list. I wouldn't have identified it without clicking the
option to go to Microsoft for further information.

I understand that Microsoft have now cured the problem with Q811493,
especially when used in conjunction with Norton Utilities. I do not know
whether they have amended the original Q811493 or issued a patch to patch
the patch! If the latter, we must expect a patch to patch the patch to patch
the patch!!

Right side five catagories down "Installed Microsoft Hotfixes"
Click on the red checkmark andit will take you to the appropriate
update page to d/l. I assumme you have had to have Windows update on at
one point or another.
