Please check the help file. You can kill the node and mask your connection speed very, very easily. This is the only P2P app I will let my sons run when they visit (they go nutz 'cause I have a 6mb/s connection) and I am paranoid about running a Windows partition to start with. -- "It's easy to miss the elephant when you are searching for ants" |

There is a very decent help file that comes with the program. Yeah, well, Shaw Cable Canada pretty much rules, despite how much we users whine. As for your firewall, that is something you should ask the developer. Myself, I use a dedicated LINUX box as firewall and router. A 486 DX-100, if you can believe it. Looks terrible, works like a hot-damn. -- "It's easy to miss the elephant when you are searching for ants" |

Well, I have 486DX/50-MHz with 12 MB of RAM and 500 MB of harddisk space running Slackware GNU/Linux v7.0 with kernel 2.4.19 as firewall for my personal home LAN. It has so much extra power left, it also works as a printer server for old dot matrix printer whichs prints my logfiles... My line out is 1MB/1MB ADSL only, since that costs only 20 USD per month here in Finland. If I need to do any serious downloading I will do it at work, where I have 155 Mbps ATM-network available and my laptop logged in to it. When in home I just put the files that I want into my "Star downloader" as a URL to be download and when my laptop is logged into fast ATM-connection then it downloads them. -- http://sami.sihvonen.info |
