Default CPU Warning Temp

My BIOS has the ability to sound a warning if the CPU reaches a specific
temperature...I believe it can be set every 10 degrees or so. How do I find
out what an appropriate warning temp would be for an Intel P4 3.0 GHZ CPU. On
the Intel site they recommend 40 degrees C for the fan intake temp but not sure
if this is the correct thing.
