Default Minolta 5400 microcode

After installing the latest driver v1.1.5 on my Minolta 5400, I noticed
that the ROM version is 1.10 (shown in the area left to the Help
button). Is this the latest microcode version? I recall reading that it
takes some extra step to load the microcode when installing v1.1.5. Is
that a fact? Thanks.

1.10 is currently the most recent firmware version, and it apparently
gets loaded in the (switched-on)scanner when you start the DiMAGE Scan
Utility. Other software, in particular VueScan, reportedly benefits
from having that firmware pre-loaded, before starting VueScan.

Hello Bart,

in relation to the original question: how can I see the versions of
my 5400 - firmware, software, microcode (whatever that may be) ?

In the DiMAGE Scan Utility, just hover the mouse pointer over the top
right info area.

Thanks Bart, I should have seen that myself by reading the first
message more carefully.

I am not up to date, having DiMAGE Scan 1.1.2 and DS Elite5400 ROM
Version - 1.09. Glad I saw your messages, Jim & Bart !

Ed Hamrick claims this is no longer needed. Are your observations different?

Thanks Bart. Many have reported that the streaking problem goes away
with the newer firmware.
