Default Epson 4180

I am using the software that came with the Epson 4180.

Unless I'm missing something, I cannot scan and print. I would like to
preview a scan, select an area to print, then print.

I can scan, select and save.
I can scan and print.

I don't want to scan to a file, then print with another app.

I see a lot of people using Vuescan. It doesn't support the 4180.

Very awkward. Any suggestions?

You might email Ed and ask him about this. I wouldn't be surprised if it
already works with the 4180 because the 4180 seems like it just an upgraded
3170 (which works with Vuescan). Ed probably has to add some small bit of
data to Vuescan so that it adds the 4180 to the choice list.

I had someone test to see if the 4180 is actually made by Acer/BenQ, like
the 660, 1270, 1670 and 2480. However, it looks like it's an OEM
scanner from another manufacturer (I suspect like the 3170, but I'm
not sure yet). I still need to buy one and try to get it working
the same way I got the 3170 working.

Thanks, Ed. Could you could post back here or send email if and when the
4180 is compatible with VueScan. Or, I guess I could keep trying the
website.

I just got a 4180 and waiting for an update for VueScan. Is there
anything I can do to help you Ed? I am also a registered user of your
program.

Ed,
I am a software developer. If you would like me to try any beta software
for the 4180, I will try it for you.

Has anyone had any luck getting Vuescan to recognize the Epson 4180?
I just installed 8.1.3 and still no luck.

Never mind previous post. It works as long as you have the epson drivers
installed.

Cheers!
