Default MIcrotek 5950 Scanmaker with ADF

Hi Folks,

I have the above machine. Using it with a Dell 5150 laptop, XP Pro and a
Hawking Blackhawk 4-Port USB 2.0 HUB.

Farily regulary when I turn on the scanner, it will not communicate. Have to
unplug the scanner power and USB cord, reboot the laptop a couple of times
and then it works. Some times the power switch will not even stay on or
will blink constantly.

Is this just the way this machine is or is something wrong?(my previous
experience with scanners also a Microtek was similar-temperamental
communications)

Thanks for any help....

If you are using the scanner through a HUB, then connect the USB cable
directly to the computer. Hubs have been known to cause problems with
scanners.
