Default Initializing the Dimage 5400

I have only been using the 5400 scanner for a short period of time so
I hope a more experienced person can solve my problem. Although I own
Silverfast AI for the 5400, it seems that only the Minolta scan
utility can initialize the scanner each time I start it up. Is there
any way for Silverfast to do the initialization? Maybe I have a
setting incorrectly applied somewhere. TIA.

To reset the Dimage 5400 or Scan Dual 4:
If the software will send the following key stroke, then this will reset the
scanner (if it is not locked up).

Remove the film holder and close the scanner

door. Press shift+control+I (Windows) or

command+control+I (Macintosh) to initialize the

scanner.

Ever thought of asking Silverfast?

Thanks for the idea, but LaserSoft seems to have a policy of letting
their employees take the weekend off. I was hopeful that one of the
more learned readers of this group could give me a jump start this
weekend.
