I know this isn't the right group, but I've received serious helpful
suggestions with my scanning problems here. I tried the e-mail groups but they all seem to be full of XXX spam and not very serious. Does anyone know where I can go to get help with my Outlook Express e-mail? I've recently had to change over from my Netscape which I had figured all out. I am now trying to find out how to save an entire directory or folder from the hard drive to floppy disk, essentially backing up information I've collected from the Internet. If anyone could direct me to the correct newsgroup I'd appreciate it. Thank you. Lynn |

Outlook saves its email in a database, a complication accessing it. Best bet, there are several FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about Outlook Express on the web, search www.google.com for Outlook Express FAQ for example, one at http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/backup/index.htm discusses a free backup utility for OE (term MVP there is Microsoft Valuable Player, an honorary title bestowed by Microsoft acknowledging skilled useful helpers), but its probably best to start at that site's beginning... http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com Also there is a large family of newsgroups named microsoft.public.outlook... -- Wayne http://www.scantips.com "A few scanning tips" |

True enough, but which is not to say that Outlook Express is not also discussed in those Outlook groups. There is also a newsgroup at microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress But yes, the web FAQ seems the right place to start. -- Wayne http://www.scantips.com "A few scanning tips" |

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give those a try.
