HP5100C and Mozart ?

Switched on my old HP5100C scanner tonight and it started to play a tune (
sounded like Mozart to me ) for about 30 seconds, all the while the scan
head was moving up and down the length of the scanner.

Any ideas what causes this or has anyone else heard of this before.

Did you perchance have an old piano roll in the paper feeder?
