Just came across this user's findings:
http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a...g?msg_id=009Nex I have no way of verifying whether this is an isolated case, but thought it worthwhile enough to share. For all I know it may be heat induced film curl related, but it might also be something else. Bart |

Nikons always had very limited DOF, but this is a strange case. The user says he didn't have the problem with the previous LS8000. I hope more details will be given... I was wondering about a LS9000 purchase myself. ![]() Thanks for the head-up! Fernando |

As the scan is in progress, the film can change shape due to heating up/drying out. > Nikons always had very limited DOF, but this is a strange case. Indeed, I never heard of something this reproducible (with one user). Maybe it's an isolated case of optical misalignment. Bart |

"... Maybe it's an isolated case of optical misalignment. ...." Or, maybe it's a case that the OP has the scanner installed inside a piece of furniture, where there is absolutely NO air circulation, and it actually is heating up excessively. |
