I have a Visioneer 9020 flatbed scanner, which worked fine before I
moved: it could scan, do optical character recognition (OCR), make copies, etc. It is hooked up to a 2.3ghz Windows XP computer. I recently moved to a new address, unplugged all the components and reconnected when I reached my new destination. All of the components, except the scanner seem to be working (printer, etc.). After I moved the error I am getting for my scanner is that is "not connected"). The light is on, so I know that electricity is flowing into it. It is connected by USB to my computer, so I know that there is a physical connection. I downloaded the newest driver, but it still says that there is no scanner connected. I tried to "manually" install new hardware, but it is not showing up on there either. Any ideas? |

Try a different USB cable ? Different USB port ? Is it the only device
on the USB bus ? tech guy wrote: > I have a Visioneer 9020 flatbed scanner, which worked fine before I > moved: it could scan, do optical character recognition (OCR), make > copies, etc. It is hooked up to a 2.3ghz Windows XP computer. I had the same problem with a Canon scanner and nothing I did would work. I
downloaded a program called VueScan at http://www.hamrick.com and it got the scanner going immediately. |

No, you don't know that there is a physical connection merely because the cable looks like it is inserted into the USB port. Try reinserting the cable or moving the cable to another port. I have this problem quite frequently with my APC UPS. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. > Jim |

I assume you remembered to lock the scanner head when you moved it? -- Hecate - The Real One Hecate@newsguy.com veni, vidi, reliqui |
