Default vuescan/linux: saving config files in $HOME

Hi Ed!

I have vuescan installed globally (in /usr/local/lib/vuescan) and start
vuescan with a script (cd /usr/local/lib/vuecan; ./vuescan).

Now everytime I close vuescan (8.0beta) it moans that it cannot save a
config file.

Thus, would it be an option to let vuescan try the following procedure:
1) try to save to the CWD of the process (i.e. from where vuescan was
started)
2) if this fails, write to $HOME/.vuescan

One more thing would be of course, that vuescan determines the real
location of the binary and load files from there, thus we could start
vuescan from any directory.

Thanks a lot and best wishes

Norbert
