Default Scanning format A4

As European I need to scan and copy (i use Epson smart panel) A4 format
which is longer than the US letter. Or my Epson 1240U scans only the US
letter standard, even if the printer output settings allow A4. Is there some
software or firmware upgrade/update to allow the scanner to permit A4
scanning?
I would appreciate any help
Fernand

The Epson Perfection 1240U can scan any arbitrary format up to the width
of Letter and a height of A4. I have no idea, why it does not work for you.

Gerhard

The scanner does't reach the height of A4, but will stop at the height oh
Letter. This happens when I use the Copy button located on the scanner front
panel and which will launch the Epson Smart panel. All other prorams are
going until the A4 height: scan to e-mail, scan to application, but not Copy
direct to the printer (also an Epson)which will stop at Letter.

EPSON Smart Panel Copy will only scan the printable area of the paper.
This is where it stops, at the bottom margin. The Smart Panel picks
this size straight from the printer properties/drivers.

Thanks for this precision Tim.
But isn't there a way to extend the bottom margin?

Yes, Change the margins in the default printer driver (My Computer>Printers)
to the maxium the printer can print.
