Fast Scanning

Alright, I need some suggestions on finding a scanner. It's going to
be taking quite a bit of abuse, getting several thousand scans in a
relatively short period of time. I only really need letter sized, but
I'll probably be scanning in color at 300 DPI.

The key is that I need something that will do that quite fast but also
give me fairly good quality images. This stuff is going on the web (on
a very large website, in fact), so the resolution will be scaled down
for this purpose, but it might also go to partners who still need it
at a high resolution; hence the 300 DPI scanning. The key is that I
need this done as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.

Any suggestions?
