Hi all,
I'm new here and am posting to get some info from the "pros"! We just opened a new business and had DSL installed. I'm looking to add a multi-function printer/copier/scanner/fax. I have a few questions though about the fax side. First of all, can I fax if I'm using DSL or does it have to be dialup using a faxmodem? Second, is there any way to fax using just the computer? Software for example? My MS Office fax wizard utility won't work (tried it). Third, would it just be better to get a used fax machine since I won't be using it a lot? Thanks for any help. I really love the newsgroups as the info I get is usually better than anything I find elsewhere. Please email me at joyfulnoise@iowatelecom.net as I'm not sure I'll check back here too often. Tim |

You definitely can fax if your using dsl but not through the dsl connection,
you will need a modem or modem card. That should answer question #2. You don't need a used fax machine as the multi-function printer will take care of that, just plug in a phone line.
