Default Short List i550 and i850 Canon

Thank you everybody for helping me develope a short list. I'm now trying to
decide between a Canon i560 or the older Canon i850. I'm looking mainly for
great quality pictures and text. The extras like being able to use the
printer without the computer are not that important.

I found an i560 for 179.99 Canadian at Staples.ca and a i850 at Costco for
189.99 Canadian. Having problems determing whether the i560 employs the
same technology as the i850.

Not considering Lexmark, horrible service record and their cartridges are
chipped.
Epson too many clogging stories.
HP cartridges too expensive.

The Canon i860 was just released in the US. It uses the newer inks same as
the i950. According to a Canon rep.. it is BETTER than the i950 and cheaper!
It retails for $150 US dollars.

The new i860 is a replacement for the i850. It uses five colours with a
photo black for more contrast. The size of the ink droplets in the
850/860 is 5 and 2 picoliters.

It doesn't print quite as good as the i950 which uses six colours
including photo cyan and magenta, and 2 picoliter droplets only.

The i850/860 produce very good results though, just not quite up to par
with the i950.
