canon i320 problems with OS X 10.2.6

Hi,

I have had extreme problems getting my new Canon i320 to work with my
G4 Powerbook. Its running OS X 10.2.6.

The same printer runs on a friends machine (OS X 10.2.4) without any
problems... and I can use the canon utility to test print pages etc,
so the printer is connected.

But whenever I try to print something it just sits there in the print
queue... I try to 'start jobs' and it trys to connect before giviing
up again. I contacted Canon and they went through 1 hours worth of
troubleshooting before giving up.

My question is, has anyelse had this problem, and is it due to my
version of os x?
