Default Difficult KVM Ghosting Problem

I purchased a Iogear GCS-1758 KVM. The device uses proprietary
"smart" cables. Apparently on Iogear-Aten make them. Although the
specs stated that the switch would support 1600x1200x75 I have serious
ghosting problems. Even when I go down to 1280x1024 it ghosts.
Certainly, the easy solution is "get higher quality cables" but as far
as I have seen, only Iogear-Aten make the cable. (Anybody know
another source???)

The company has been horrible (to make a long story short). Also the
vendor(s) of the switch and the cables won't take them back, since I
have been fiddling around with this for over a month. I feel like I
have thrown clost to $700 down a hole (Box + 8 cables).

My latest attempt was to get a signal amplifier (Belkin). That only
made the problem worse.

Any help getting me out of this nightmare would be much appreciated.

Does the auto-calibration feature of the KVM work?
