Default Codecs????

When i try and import a mpeg file i get this error message:

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Jamie Cann\My Documents\My
Videos\Bellhouse Cup Final.mpg cannot be imported because the codec required
to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried
to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and
then try to import the file again.

Any ideas???

Jay.

Default RE: Codecs????

Movie Maker doesn't work well with Mpeg, so you need to convert the video to
another format....such as AVI. I do it with a program called AVS
CONVERTER, but there are lots of others....some which may be free. The AVS
CONVERTER program costs $29.95 and you can find it on www.download.com if you
search for it.
Good luck... or you can wait to see if anybody comes on and tells you if
there are any free programs to do it.
