The only way I can make it work is using the advanced tab and writing it
like:

Categories contains category1
Categories contains category1 AND category2

I'm not sure if the QueryBuilder key will work with BCM:

Is there a reason you need advanced find and not a custom view? The SQL
filter might work better, but it's views only:

Sorry - the point is to make it easy for the end user. My end user is barely
able to mail merge. She isn't going to install from the registry and write
custom views. And since her needs change constantly, these aren't static
variations I can create for her and she'll be fine forever. She needs to
find find people belonging to 2 specific categories, then send letters or
emails that she wants tracked in BCM. This is easily done in ACT or in
Goldmine. Should it really be this hard to do in BCM? If it isn't easy for
Sales Personnel, it won't get used.
