Default Office 2003 Service Pack 1 and BCM

I have skimmed through the description of the content of this SP - I cannot
find anything for BCM that has not been released before and that targets the
numerous stability issues with this application.

I hope I have been overlooking the numerous BCM-updates that MUST be in this
SP. Have I or is MS ignoring this app. and its customers using it?

Thorbjorn:

I installed SP1 and can confirm that there is certainly no functional
changes to BCM. MS may have fixed the forms cache problem, I don't know
yet.

I also am most anxious to hear *something* about the status of BCM - will
there be an update? If so, when? What things might be
fixed/addressed/improved etc.?

I have been letting the MS error report generator run wild on all my
problems with BCM the last 9 months, posted in forums, sent MS extended
feedback. Almost had a non-paid part-time job with MS for this. To no avail
apparantly.

The forms cache problem is the one BCM issue that definitely is supposed to
be fixed.

FWIW, Microsoft tries to avoid putting feature changes in SPs (but some
always slip in anyway). The exceptions this time are some significant
changes to OneNote and a small enhancement to the Outlook junk mail filter.

Did you install the separate BCM SP1 from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...DisplayLang=en?

Fixes (few) are listed at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=839881

Thanks for this info - I did overlook it.

I have now applied both SPs. The first time I opened an email in business
history after applying the SPs, I got the message "BCM has encountered a
problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience".

We are writing 2004 and progressing fast. Puhhh.

Fortunately I found a related post on the outlook-contacts board that suggested clearing the forms cache and that seems to have done the trick. all clear for now, only lost 2 hours of work fighting with it.
