Outlook XP Stops Functioning

I have a clean load of Windows XP (completely service
packed) and Office XP Professional (completely service
packed).

After a few minutes of Outlook running, I click on send
and receive and get an error message that says the
following:

The Operation failed due to network or other
communications problems. Check your connections and try
again.

I am connected all the way around to both the network and
the internet. I have searched knowledgebase with no luck.

Has anyone else encountered this problem??? Does anyone
know what is causing this problem to occur??? This is
getting real annoying!!! Please Help!!!
