I'm running a new computer with Outlook XP. No matter
what setting I choose under "Tools Options Other AdvancedOptions" and then select "Startup in this folder" Whenever I open outlook, it ALWAYS opens into my inbox. I want it to open outlook today. I even tried modfying the settings in outlook today and checked the box "When starting, go directly to Outlook Today", it still always goes into the inbox when I start outlook. A side note: About a week ago I starting using the "Outlook Today" screen to keep me in track, and modified outlook to startup in outlook today, and it worked.. for about a day. and now I can't get outlook to startup in any other folder than my inbox. I'm guessing that the shortcut you're using to open Outlook is forcing
you into the Inbox. If you're opening Outlook from a "regular" Windows shortcut (i.e. one that behaves like other shortcuts), check the file path and see if it ends with a switch pointing to the Inbox. If you're using a specialized Outlook shortcut, it may be pre-programmed to open the Inbox. For example, Windows XP puts a "check e-mail" shortcut in the Start menu, and if your default e-mail program is Outlook, the shortcut will be to Outlook, but since it's a "check e-mail" shortcut, it goes to the Inbox and there's no way to change it. -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Replies sent to my e-mail address will probably not be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "Randy" <rhommel@summitfunding.net> wrote in message news:402101c340af$db521530$a601280a@phx.gbl... > I'm running a new computer with Outlook XP.
