We are upgrading to Office 2003 Pro from Office 2000. We used Outlook 2000
for messaging between staff members and also for the group calendar. The 2003 version seems to be all about internet email, which we DO NOT wish to be incorporated with our inter-office messages and calendar. Is there any way to use Outlook 2003 without it having to be online? |

Dear 815admin,
I think you used Outlook 2000 NetFolders for your internal group calendar and messaging. Outlook 2002/2003 does not support NetFolders anymore. Of course you can use Outlook 2003 without to be online. For the messaging you will need a Mailserver: (http://www.janaserver.de/start.php?lang=en) , freeware but for the group calendar you will need Exchange or another "share" solution. On this site is an article on various ways to share Outlook data: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/a...1477571033.aspx You will also find a list of third-party sharing tools: http://www.mapistore.com/Outlook/Groupware http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm -- Oliver Vukovics Share Outlook without Exchange: Public ShareFolder Notebook Synchronisation for Outlook: Public SyncTool http://www.publicshareware.com "815admin" <815admin@discussions.microsoft.com> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:ADEC01CB-6296-41AD-8501-F8F4EA1EB438@microsoft.com... > We are upgrading to Office 2003 Pro from Office 2000. Hi Oliver,
After reading your post, I think this is what I need. First I need to know how to configure Outlook 2003 for my users to only use calendars, contacts, ect without email account. (we have no mail server). I would like to store their pst on the server under their home directory or in a share folder area. Then, it would be nice to be able to share certain contacts and calendars. Can you help me get started with this? Thanks in advance for any help Sher "Oliver Vukovics" wrote: > Dear 815admin, > > I think you used Outlook 2000 NetFolders for your internal group calendar > and messaging. > > Outlook 2002/2003 does not support NetFolders anymore. > > Of course you can use Outlook 2003 without to be online.
