problems sending attachments with Outlook 2000

When I use Outlook 2000 to send attachments, my computer shuts down & restarts

first try scanpst.exe to repair your pst file.
Have you scanned for virusses?

Herr Roeder,

I did try Scanpst.exe, but that didn't seem to correct the problem. I did
also attempt to perform the "detect & repair" function under help. It asked
for my product CD which I did put in. However, the installer stopped
prematurely for some reason.
