You're not alone. I up graded from outlook 2000 to 2002 and have the same
problem. This is kind of silly. Someone needed to have thought about the import process when they programed the software. I've tried everything I know to import, drag, trick outlook 2002 to take my old 2000 IAF account files and it just wont. Is there a fix for this? A conversion application for iaf files to what ever file 2002 and 2003 are using? and yes, I did check the trouble shooting site and this is what I got and here's the link http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;278133 This is the text from the link above and when I did what it told me to do, IT STILL DOESN'T ALLOW ME TO IMPORT MY IAF FILES!!! ********************************************** You cannot import or export e-mail accounts with .IAF files in Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003 Article ID : 278168 Last Review : October 1, 2004 Revision : 1.0 This article was previously published under Q278168 On this page SYMPTOMS WORKAROUND SYMPTOMS In previous versions of Microsoft Outlook, you were able to import and export your Internet Mail Account settings to an Internet Account file (.IAF) format. This feature was available in Microsoft Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only (IMO) by clicking Accounts on the Tools menu. The option is not available in Outlook 2002. WORKAROUND To work around this behavior, use the following steps to import Internet Mail Accounts settings from the e-mail programs that are on your computer: 1. Start Outlook. 2. On the File menu, click Import and Export. 3. Click Import Internet Mail Account Settings, and then click Next. 4. Follow the Import and Export Wizard to complete the import process. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- APPLIES TO • Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 • Microsoft Outlook 2002 Standard Edition ********************************************** So when I do the above instructions I get a little blue box "Import warning" saying "There are no accounts to import" WTF? It doesn't even give me a browse option to locate the accounts in question, it just pops the warning up as soon as I click "Import Internet Mail Account Settings" So what's up MS? Can someone who knows what their doing reply here? I extremely frustrated! |
