Default Outlook Office 2003 cannot reach POP3 server

I have a strange problem with outlook - once and a while. I can perfectly
send stuff but the POP server times out before I can recieve stuff. I have
spent hour with my ISP but the only thing that helps is to delete my email
account and then just recreate it. After that all works OK ... for a while. I
run XP pro service pack 2 and Office 2003 service pack 1.

Any suggestions ?

Hi Geert,
have you installed Any Anti Virus software or any firewall?
Did you get any error messages?

Nope,

only the soft 'firewall' that came with XP pack 2.
I seem to get somewhat closer to the problem. When I contact my mail through
http the 'normal' office pop server times out. So the problem becomes
repeatable instead of totally random. But no solution yet. Any servicepacks
after Office 2003 sp1 ?
