router not allowing receiving of emails

I just installed a lynksys router and can only send not receive emails. I spoke with ISP & Linksys numerous times and they verified both router and ISP settings are fine. I flashed the firmware and reconfigured my account, but still have same problems. If I remove the router Outlook works fine. The error message is
"A timeout error occured while connecting to the server. Account: 'mail(my account).net', POP3 Server: 'mail(my account).net', Error number 0x800ccc19
Any ideas please HELP!
