Default E-mail account settings after update


I have just downloaded and installed SP3 and its associated update for Outlook in Office XP (Windows XP Home Ed), and with the usual Microsoft inefficiency, my Outlook e-mail settings (which I have not touched at all) no longer work. I have shut down my computer and restarted but to no avail. Please help.
