Default Transfering messages and address book from OE on one computer to Outlook on another

I have wasted hours trying to export message and address files from Outlook Express so I can import them to Outlook on another computer

When I try to export, I get the error "cannot open MAPI store" and the operation aborts

I understoon this data was in *.pst and *.pab files, but I cannot find them anywhere. I've looked on all the online resources, help, etc. but there is no answer to be found. This makes me feel stupid, because I know the answer is simple and others have had this problem

Can anyone help me?

In order to export to outlook, you need Outlook installed on the computer... it might be easier to move the OEfiles to the new machine, configure OE then export to Outlook. See tomsterdam.com for instructions on reconnecting dbx files after moving them.
