Karl,
When you are inside the VPN tunnel, ping the Exchange server by Netbios name and then ping it by FQDN. Is the IP address that's returned the same IP address (and the correct IP address for both pings)? I've installed Outlook 2003 at home on my XP Home Addition and I'm trying to set my profile up through a VPN tunnel to my work. When my tunnel is connected, I can see the exchange server, ping it, map it, log onto it, etc. However, no matter what I do, when I'm setting up my profile, enter the exchange server and mailbox names and click the "Check Name" button, I get a dialogue box almost immediatley stating the server cannot be found/resolved. From the flavor of the responses to the other threads I've read, is sounds like a DNS problem, but I'm not sure. > > Paticulars are: Notel Networks VPN Client, MS XP Home Addition, Outlook 2003, Exchange 5.5. Thanks for the response Greg, the answer is yes, I execute a ping using the IP address, the NB name and FQDN and I always get the same IP. That is why I'm confused. I've tried all these configurations as the server name when setting up my profile and Outlook still can't see it
