Default Word as email editor option greyed out

Not sure if anyone can help. Outlook 2002. Office 97
Full office 97 install done first. Outlook 2002 then installed which removed outlook 97.

The use word to edit e-mail messages option is greyed out in tools/options/mail format tab in outlook profile, any ideas why ?

WordMail requires matching versions. You would need to install Word 2002.

Does this apply to the same problem I have encountered with Outlook 2003 and Word 97?
