I have installed Office 2003 and would like to use
Outlook. I currently use Outlook Express and upgraded from Office XP. I set Outlook 2003 as my default email program and the connections seem right however everything still goes to Outlook express. When I send a test message it goes to Express instead of Outlook. Do I have to delete Outlook Expree and/or Office XP to make this work. Thanks in advance. |

Set the account in outlook express to not be included in automatic mail
checks - you should set it to leave mail on server too - both are in OE's tools, accounts. This will prevent OE from grabbing mail before OL gets it and leave it for outlook if for some reason it does a mail check. Do you have the account setup correctly in Outlook? if the server names are correct, it should get the mail. once you get OL working, you can delete the account from OE's tools, accounts if you want. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.poremsky.com - http://www.cdolive.com Expert Zone http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Search for answers: http://groups.google.com Most recent posts to the Outlook newsgroups: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_...utlook.*&num=30 "Ira" <Iapples@att.net> wrote in message news:0b2f01c39e5f$dda44d40$a001280a@phx.gbl... > I have installed Office 2003 and would like to use > Outlook. tools, accounts in OE - check the properties of the mail account and on the
last tab, leave mail on server. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.poremsky.com - http://www.cdolive.com Expert Zone http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Search for answers: http://groups.google.com Most recent posts to the Outlook newsgroups: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_...utlook.*&num=30 "iapples@att.net" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0b5601c39e61$ce351ef0$a001280a@phx.gbl... > Diane, Please give me instructions on how to do this. > Thanks. > >-----Original Message----- > >Set the account in outlook express to not be included in > automatic mail > >checks - you should set it to leave mail on server too - > both are in OE's > >tools, accounts.
