Sending & Receiving Error Messages

I am unable to get Microsoft Outlook 2002 to "not change
the configuration of my Account Set-up". When I put in
the pop address, it subsequently changes the pop address
that I configured to "localhost". When it changes it
to "localhost", it is unable to send/receive and I get an
error message. I change it back to the correct pop
address and the process continues - "localhost", error
message, change, localhost, error message....etc, etc.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem?
