Open your Control Panel
Select the MAIL applet

From here try to Remove the Exchange from the services.

Yes, that's that usual way. But remeber I can't even get into an Outlook
mode where the tools menu is available. Normally, in this situation in the
past I have simply re-installed Outlook, and then when I clcik on it it
gives me the choices for the different modes. Now even after a re-install I
do no reach the page where there is a choice: it just asks for the Exchange
server name again.
