programmatically setting a project reference

I have a document and it has the normal default reference
to the normal.dot. I want to reference another .dot
instead of the normal.dot. I realize I can manually go
into the reference - Project dialog and browse for it but
can I put code in the .doc side to get the reference to
the .dot.
