Reminder prompts an email

Hello,

I have a user who would like to send birthday cards to everybody in his
contacts. Currently, we have reminders pop up for him to remind him of the
birthdays and then his assistant sends an e-card to that person. What this
user would like to do is be able to fire an email off from the reminder pop
up. Is there a rule I can create that would enable him to do this? Or, have
you heard of any software that will work with Outlook to do this?
