Remove dashes in Task note pane

Outlook 2003.

When I create a reoccurring task and then open it, dashes appear on top of
whatever text I have inputted. I.e.:

[------------- (as they appear in my Task)
"Text for Task information"]

Is there a formatting option where I can turn this off?
