office 2003 outlook, Calendar not displayed

I click on the Calendar button on the navigation pane, but whatever mail
folder that I was on previously is still diplayed on the right instead of the
Calendar. how do I get the Calendar to display correctly?
I am using office 2003 on win2003 server os
