In Outlook 2003 one of my user's reminders in her main calendar folder are
not working at all. No error messages, they just don't pop up at all. Before you suggest I have checked all the posts here and the suggested seem to be everything I have already tried! I have tried: - Detect and repair - Remove and reinstall - /Cleanreminders - /ResetFolders - Switching off and on the reminders popup option in Tools/Options/Other/Reminder Options It is driving me (and her!) insane and although there seem to be heaps of people on here suffering with it, there is no mention of a fix anywhere!!! |

When all else fails try a new profile. I'd create a dummy profile that uses
a PST file and see if reminders work on that. If they do you can create a new profile for their mailbox. If you aren't using Exchange I'd also run Scanpst.exe on their PST file and see if that uncovers anything. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "AlisonJS" <AlisonJS@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:370DDC06-312E-483B-94CE-2D9D0CCF4BF9@microsoft.com... > In Outlook 2003 one of my user's reminders in her main calendar folder are > not working at all. Three other things to try.
1. If you are using Exchange try logging into that mailbox using an admin profile that has permissions to log in. See if reminders fire then. 2. If the user is running in cached Exchange mode turn it off. See if reminders fire in online mode. If so then delete the OST file used for cached mode and then return to cached mode. Outlook will build another OST file. You can also try running ScanOST.exe to see if that finds anything. 2. Download OutlookSpy from www.dimastr.com and install it on that Outlook. Click on the IMsgStore button. Click the Open Root Folder button at the top left of the store dialog. Click on the GetHierarchyTable tab, select Reminders, click OpenEntry. Look at the GetSearchCriteria tab. Make sure that Inbox, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts are listed there. Also, when looking at the GetHierarchyTable tab make sure only 1 Reminders folder is there (no Reminders1, etc.). Delete any additional Reminders folders. Report back here your findings. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "Guess Who" <me@home.com> wrote in message news:s6amp01u6le1bcd6d1uvv42prhoum8jic2@4ax.com... > None of these worked for me |

Doing any synching with any PDA's? If so disable that by removing the PDA
from the cradle after exiting Outlook. Make sure Outlook doesn't show up in the Task Manager's processes tab (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). Then start Outlook with /resetfolders and see if Reminders is there then. Also, since you are using Outlook 2003 make sure that non-cached mode is selected for that profile before you use /resetfolders. Check for the Reminders folder in online mode. Blow away the OST file used for cached mode if that was being used. Then if you return to cached mode see what happens. In cached mode Reminders is located under IMsgStore button, Open Root Container button, GetHierarchyTable tab, Finder folder, GetHierarchyTable tab. It should be listed there. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "Guess Who" <me@home.com> wrote in message news:hjinp0hab3a6ts161odelt61kn6pn29343@4ax.com... > read below > On Wed, 17 Nov 2004 09:06:28 -0500, "Ken Slovak - [MVP - Outlook]" > <kenslovak@mvps.org> wrote: > > >Three other things to try. > > > >1.
