I often have the need to clear all appointments or events from a single day or week in Outlook. Is there a way to do an entire day or week at a time, rather than opening each appointment, clicking "Delete", clicking "this occurence", then repeating it for each entry??? This is quite tedious, and there has to be a faster way Thanks |

If you switch to a table view, you can sort by date and delete multiple
items. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "lovnlife" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:14BE884F-BDB2-4074-88A4-F1B8B24F12D7@microsoft.com... > > > I often have the need to clear all appointments or events from a single day or week in Outlook. Sue,
Forgive my ignorance, but how do you get a table view. I am using windows XP. Thanks ----- Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook] wrote: ----- If you switch to a table view, you can sort by date and delete multiple items. One quick way to switch to the By Category view on the View menu.

If you click on the Start column heading, Outlook will sort by that field.
You can adjust other view settings or create a totally new table using the View | Current View | Customize Current View or Define Views commands. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "lovnlife" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EC894B6F-4CFB-42EB-854E-49DE635FE9A7@microsoft.com... > I tried that, but I don't assign categories to my appointments, so they all come up together. Correct. You'll see individual instances of recurring items only in the
day/week/month view. There's no other built-in way to see them. Also note: The newsgroup interface you are using apparently does not quote earlier messages in the thread, making your latest message so short on detail that you risk not getting the answer you're looking for. Please take the time to quote the original message. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "lovnlife" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:589813C2-2290-4795-AA03-D80A79369009@microsoft.com... > Hi Sue, > > Thanks again. I had gotten to that stage. The problem I am having is that recurring items only list under their start and end date. It's the in between dates that I am targeting, and an appointment only shows up under the dates that it starts and ends. I've tried making a custom view, but none of the items that I have added, show individual dates of recurrence. What I want is to take an individual date, convert that to a table, showing only the appointments and tasks for that date (or at least including all of them for that individual date), and then be able to quickly delete as many as I need. > > Thanks |

In the case of recurring appointments, you have to do it individually. I'm
sorry I missed that nuance in your original question. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "lovnlife" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6989B4CC-CC9D-4AC3-AF9E-EE383A57BD5F@microsoft.com... > OK. > > So, if the Day/Week/Month view is the only way to see individual occurences of recurring aptmtm how can you quickly delete several/many/more than one---at a time?? Can you put this view into table format?
