I keep getting "The Reminder for "My appt" will not appear because the item
is not in your Calendar or Tasks folder. Is this OK?" I used to log onto an enterprise domain and never got this error. Now that I work at my home office I simply log on to my PC's local domain and I get this error any time I try to set a reminder. Also, I get "Cannot update Public/Busy data" about every twenty minutes, again, when I am logged on locally. Never got it when I was logged on to the big domain. Any help is greatly appreciated. Is the appointment in question in your default Calendar folder -- that is,
the original Calendar folder (not a user-created one) in the same set of Personal Folders or the same Exchange mailbox where your mail is delivered? If not, you will get that error message, since reminders can only fire from certain folders in your default mail store. You'd need a third party add-in to get around this -- see www.slovaktech.com. As for the other error, try starting Outlook once with the /CleanFreeBusy switch. If you need help using Outlook command line switches, look here: http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;197180 -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** In news:OyGrQfOEEHA.2308@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl, Keith-Earl wrote: > I keep getting "The Reminder for "My appt" will not appear because > the item is not in your Calendar or Tasks folder. Thanks, Jocelyn.
Isn't there simply a way to tell Outlook to use the OTHER Calendar for it's default? No. The default Calendar is always the original Calendar folder in the
default mail store. -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** In news:%23pJjeqcEEHA.1272@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl, Keith-Earl wrote: > Thanks, Jocelyn. > > Isn't there simply a way to tell Outlook to use the OTHER Calendar > for it's default? > > Keith > > "Jocelyn Fiorello [MVP - Outlook]" <jfiorelloNOSPAM@mvps.org> wrote in > message news:O8mESWWEEHA.2272@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... >> Is the appointment in question in your default Calendar folder -- >> that is, the original Calendar folder (not a user-created one) in >> the same set of Personal Folders or the same Exchange mailbox where >> your mail is delivered? But I have to ask: <<<The default Calendar is always the original Calendar
folder in the > default mail store>>> Is there a way to change the "default mail store"? I would gladly do that if I can fix my installation.
