Hello all,
We currently run Small Business Server 2003 (Exchange Server 2003 / Windows 2003 Server environment) with a mix of Windows 2000 and Windows XP based client machines. All clients are using Outlook 2003. We have programmed a custom form for event scheduling (used instead of the default appointment form) and have allowed users to book any created resource according to their individual needs. The users are experiencing a problem when they attempt to book one or more resources. The problem is that the Busy Status for the resource in the appointment is always one behind what it actually should be in the scheduler. For example, If the busy status on an appointment is set to Tentative and I change it to Busy, resend, reopen the appointment and check the Scheduling tab all attendees will be updated with the new information. However the resource will still show it's busy status on the schedule as being Tentative. If I resend the appointment, reopen and check the Scheduling tab, the resource updates correctly to busy. This happens consistently with our custom appointment form as well as the default appointment form in Outlook. After calling Microsoft support, I was told that this issue may be based on what the representative called "hidden rules" and timing constraints that Exchange uses when updating scheduler information. However, this does not seem to be the case since busy status for the resource is updated correctly on a resend. If these actions were being placed in some kind of queue, I would assume that they would pile up rather than performing any action. It is also important to note that no matter how much time lapses, the resource schedule never updates properly on a single send. It is only when the appointment is reopened and resent that the resource schedule updates properly. Any help, information, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Neil Dittmar Software Developer Aurora Information Systems |

Have you checked whether you get the same behavior in Cached Exchange mode
and classic online mode? -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Neil Dittmar" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0b6001c48b7f$8253e460$a301280a@phx.gbl... > Hello all, > > We currently run Small Business Server 2003 (Exchange > Server 2003 / Windows 2003 Server environment) with a mix > of Windows 2000 and Windows XP based client machines.
