Default personal macro workbook will not start


When I try and record a macro in Excel using my personal workbook I receive
an error message stating "Personal macro Workbook in the startup folder must
stay open for recording".
it then will not let me record the Macro

Personal.xls is a hidden workbook which must remain open for recording to
take place into it. Are you unhiding the workbook and closing it?
