I've got a computer that when clicking the "Save" icon to refresh the
information of an Excel file on an active network drive, Excel attempt to save the newer information, and locks up. Next Alt-Ctrl-Del leads to a locked computer that must be rebooted. Going through File>Save As doesn't seem to cause a problem. Any suggestions? |

Sounds like you have a Shared workbook.
I have seen sufficient problems reported with Shared workbooks that I keep well clear of using them. The problem could be related to a virus checker on the network server getting hold of the file when your new copy is saved as a temporary file and before it is renamed to the usual name. Or it might be something completely different... Bill Manville MVP - Microsoft Excel, Oxford, England |
