Default I'm trying to SUM a column of numbers but the answer is showing 0.

This is the first time this has happened.

I have a column I'm trying to Sum and the answer s/b 27,257 but it shows 0.

I've checked the formatting etc.

I downloaded updates yesterday from the Microsoft Website. Is anyone aware
of these causing formula problems?

What formula did you use?

Likely everything is text instead of numeric. If =COUNT(range) returns
zero, then this is the problem. copy an empty cell, select the entire
range in question, and Edit|Paste Special|Add to coerce text digits into
numbers.

The characterization of this group as "Excel Application Errors" in
Microsoft's Office Discussion Groups Home is easily misinterpreted. The
standard name of the group is microsoft.public.excel.crashesgpfs, and
your post has nothing to do with Excel crashing. You would have gotten
an almost immediate response had you posted the question in Worksheet
Functions or General Questions, where it would have been more on topic.
