When I open excel and click onto work sheet, the program
locks and highlights all cells when I move mouse. Will not release even when I place mouse off the page and unable to close program without using task manager. I have excel 2000 with SP3, running windows XP SP2. Any ideas without re-installing. All other Office programs work fine. |

I am having the exact same problem with 2003, plus if I click on another
worksheet in the workbook the program locks and has what looks like a piece of paper above the cursor. Anyone give you an answer yet? Keith,
I reinstalled Excel and had the same problem. I noticed that there was an additional toolbar on the bottom of my screen. Don't know how it got there, but it was for speech recognition. I removed it according to the hep instructions through the control panel and now excel is working properly. Give it a try.
