I exported a table from MSAccess in a csv format. Originally I blamed Access
for the problem. When opening the csv in Excel all of the preceeding zeros in the PartNumber and CheckNumber fields had disappeared. I then opened notepad and opened the same csv file and the zeros were still there. How can I save the file so that the zeros remain in Excel Thanx in advance Alan Gresham |

For a manual approach, try Data, Import External Data, Import Data. The once you have selected delimited and specified the delimiting character, you can choose the data type for each column.
