Default Green Triangles

After updating to Excel Version 2003 I get green triangle errors and I don't
have an error. The error message states that I need to include an adjacent
cell in my formula, I don't want to.

Three answers.

1) Ignore them, they do not effect functionality or calculation.
2) Click on the 'smart tag' that accompanies them and select 'ignore error'
3) Tools>Autocorrect...>Smart Tags and switch them off

Nick:
Thank you for the response, it helped. But I was wondering why Excel 2003
was automatically assuming you want to include ajacent cells in your formula
and displaying most (but not all) total (SUM) cells as errors. Is this a
glitch in the new version?
Thanks
Nita

No it's not a glitch as such, It's just they are a little over-zealous at
times. What it does is looks in adjacent cells and decides whether the
cells around have consistent formulas. It a large sheets, spotting one
'flag' and finding a wrong formula is great, but most of the time, it is
showing you formulas which you know are correct, just Excel doesn't see them
as consistent. A column of data which is then summed is a good example.

In truth, many people find them a pain and switch them off! Clippy,
SmartTags...what next?
