missing file sku011.cab

Excel won't open anymore because of missing file sku011.cab.
This happened after an automatic update and as it was pre-installed on my
laptop by Dell, they say that it isn't covered by the guarantee and to buy
Office and re-install the whole thing.
Surely there is an easier and cheaper way?
Any info is appreciated.
